Steady Start and Strong Mid-Race, With Challenges in the Final Miles Benjamin Bermudez demonstrated strong pacing strategies early in the 2025 Phoenix Marathon, maintaining consistent mile splits ranging from 6:19 to 6:45 min/mile up to mile 8. He had a noteworthy position in his M40-44 age group, reaching as high as 2nd place by mile 8. His strong mid-race pace helped secure improvement to 3rd place by mile 10 and 12. By maintaining paces consistently between 6:24 and 7:07 min/mile up to mile 16, his overall strategy showed robust endurance. In the latter stages, Benjamin encountered pace difficulties from mile 17 onward, where splits gradually increased, peaking with a dramatic increase at mile 26 where a 67:25 min/mile split was recorded. This greatly affected his final standing, placing 19th in his division with an overall time of 3:14:56. Despite the late race challenge, focusing on maintaining pace in the latter phases can provide improved outcomes.
