Consistent Effort with Opportunities for Stability David Shumaker completed the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half Marathon in 3:09:32, maintaining a steady overall pace of 14:28 min/mile. Through the first five miles, he kept an average pace below 12 minutes per mile, but the pace dropped during the latter stages. Notably, the sixth mile saw a significant increase in split time to 14:33, setting the tone for the remainder of the race. Despite some fluctuations in pacing, David showed admirable tenacity, consistently holding his position at around 1077th among the 2,723 participants, while representing his team, Pharmtastic 4. The seventh mile demonstrated a brief recovery in pace at 12:54 min/mile. Future training might focus on maintaining a more evenly distributed pace, particularly after the midpoint to harness the initial strong pace and minimize the slowing towards the race's conclusion.
