Consistent Early Pacing with a Resilient Finish David Valdez demonstrated a strong start at the 2025 Phoenix Marathon, maintaining an impressive pace in the early stages. His opening mile was his fastest at 7:59 min/mile. Up to mile 7, he consistently stayed near the 8:00 min/mile mark, which solidified his overall place at 517. Notably, his split times fluctuated slightly but remained steadfast, reflecting effective pacing strategy. He was placed 22nd in his division by the first mile but experienced changes as the race progressed, ending at 51st. Towards the latter part of the race, David faced a decrease in pace, with the last 10 miles averaging closer to 8:30 min/mile. Despite the slower pace in miles 24 through 26, with a notable 11:01 min/mile at mile 24, he managed a commendable push at the finish line, completing the marathon in 3:43:32.
