Consistent Pacing with Strong Mid-Race Surge Zachary Lipp demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with a 10:32 min/mile pace, he gradually increased his speed, clocking faster splits with a notable acceleration between miles 2 and 3 (10:10 min/mile to 9:42 min/mile). His overall pace was consistent, averaging 10:19 min/mile for the race. A significant highlight was mile 6, where his placement drastically improved from the average of other splits, placing 333rd in his gender category and 36th in his division for that split. The second half of the race showed some variability, with an impressive burst in mile 9 at 9:38 min/mile. While mile 11 was somewhat slower at 12:09 min/mile, Zachary maintained an overall steady performance, finishing with a total time of 2:15:11. Zacharys strategy of consistent pacing with strategic mid-race surges is commendable. For future races, focusing on maintaining momentum in the later miles could enhance results further.
