Starting with a steady first mile at 9:05, he maintained a consistent pace, with minor variation, until the fourth mile. Notably, he picked up speed at mile four with an impressive split time of 8:58 min/mile and closed strongly with a final mile pace of 8:35 min/mile. Diego's overall elapsed time was 57:11, placing him 25th in the M40-44 division.
