Consistent Performance with Strong Personal Splits Leta Melzer effectively maintained a consistent pace during the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half Marathon, finishing with an overall time of 1:57:30. Her average pace of 8:58 min/mile allowed her to achieve 11th place in her F15-18 division among participants. Noteworthy was her strong performance from miles 2 to 4 with significant improvement in her pace, dropping from 9:00 min/mile during the first mile to a commendable 8:25 min/mile at mile 3. Her strategic pacing helped her maintain a relatively steady position, placing her in the top quartile of her division. Despite a slight slowdown in mile 7, she recovered well in mile 9 with an impressive split time of 8:27, calling for attention to pacing in the latter stages of the race to avoid tapering.
