Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Connor Lavin, at 13 years old and representing Cirque de Sore Legs, demonstrated consistent pacing in his 10K race at the 2025 Phoenix Marathon. Starting with a steady pace of 10:15 min/mile, Connor efficiently improved with a quicker split time of 10:01 in the second mile. Notably, he maintained a strong position in his age division (M1-14), placing as high as 3rd in the second mile. His overall performance resulted in an elapsed time of 1:09:08, yielding an average pace of 11:09 min/mile. Connor showed resilience, notably accelerating in the last mile with an impressive split pace of 9:54 min/mile, finishing 7th in his division. While there's always potential to strategize pace across the course, his ability to close the race strong indicates excellent potential in future races. Continued practice on maintaining speed and stamina could see further gains.
