Consistent Performance with Strategic Strong Finish Matthew Kingzett delivered a superb performance at the 2025 Phoenix Marathon, finishing 8th overall. His consistent pacing was evident with an average elapsed pace of 5:21 min/mile over the 13.1-mile Half Marathon. Notably, he maintained a tight range of pacing, between 5:24 and 5:21 min/mile, up to mile 11. His splits showcased minor deviations, which suggests strong control over his race strategy. Particularly impressive was his strategy in the latter part of the race. Between miles 10 and 13, he significantly increased his pace, culminating in a rapid 5:08 min/mile split at mile 10, followed by a fierce 5:09 and 5:10 min/mile finish. This well-timed acceleration helped him secure 2nd place in the M30-34 division. Moving forward, maintaining momentum after such a demanding mile 11 split in future races could further elevate his performance. Overall, an accomplished race with evident strengths in pacing strategy.
