Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Ben Hegewald demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the 2025 Phoenix Marathon. His splits predominantly ranged between 6:18 and 6:37 minutes per mile, maintaining an overall average of 6:31 min/mile. Notably, he completed the 23rd mile with an impressive 6:05 pace, which shows his capacity for a strong push towards the end of the race. Ben's peak performance was witnessed as he improved his division rank during crucial miles, particularly mile 23, where he placed 3rd in his division. While Ben's performance slipped in splits 24 and 25, finishing with longer times of 7:59 and 7:24 respectively, he remarkably bounced back to secure a first place in the M19-24 division by mile 26. His total elapsed time was 2:50:45, finishing 41st overall in a field of 2,712 participants.
