Strong Start with Some Mid-Race Variability Sara Lazar from Chandler, AZ, delivered a solid performance in the 2025 Phoenix Marathon's half marathon event. She completed the 13.1 miles in 2:53:34, maintaining an average pace of 13:14 min/mile. Notably, Sara demonstrated remarkable consistency in the first few miles with split paces between 11:52 and 13:18 min/mile, particularly excelling in mile 3 with a swift 11:52 min/mile. Her overall ranking was 2061 out of 2723 participants. While Sara maintained a steady performance through much of the course, there's an opportunity for her to focus on mid-race pacing strategies, specifically around mile 5 where her pace dropped to 14:38 min/mile. Analyzing this, she could target these sections for potential improvement in future races. Supported by her team, AZ Run Club, and showcasing her tenacity, Sara successfully finished in the top half of her division F35-39 after a robust final push in mile 13, clocking 14:31 min/mile.
