Steady Performance with Consistent Pacing Marc Smith showcased an admirable level of consistency during the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half Marathon. Covering the 13.1-mile course in 1:58:55, Marc maintained a solid average pace of 9:04 min/mile. Throughout the race, the pace variation was minimal, indicating efficient pacing control. Particularly notable was Marcs ability to finish strong with quicker splits in the final miles, posting 8:44 min/mile and 8:43 min/mile for miles nine and ten. Participation in these races often presents opportunities for strategic pacing improvements. Notably, after peaking at mile ten, there was a slight decrease in pace at mile eleven with a split time of 9:57. Considering this, Marc could benefit from incorporating more varied speed workouts into his training regimen to help better maintain speed in the latter part of the race. Overall, Marcs performance was commendable, making a significant impact on behalf of the AZ Run Club.
