Consistent Early Pace, Late Race Decline Luke demonstrated a strong start at the 2025 Phoenix Marathon, maintaining a consistent pace for the first half. Beginning with an 8:38 min/mile pace, he steadily improved, hitting a swift 7:17 min/mile at mile 8. At this point, he was positioned 450th overall and 56th in the M19-24 division, showcasing a promising performance. His splits reflect a well-managed effort, with notable efficiency between miles 1 and 10, averaging a pace of 7:58 min/mile overall. In the latter stages, Luke experienced an increase in split times, with significant deceleration at mile 24, where his pace fell to 13:11 min/mile. The final mile was particularly indicative of fatigue, with a striking 49:24 min/mile. Despite these challenges, he completed the marathon in 3:47:40. Focusing on endurance and maintaining pace in the final miles could help reduce overall finishing time and improve his position in future events.
