Consistent Early Pace with Room for Positive Endurance Gains Manuel Yanes ran the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half Marathon with an overall time of 2:05:58, averaging a pace of 9:36 per mile. He started strong, maintaining an average pace of 8:44 per mile across the first half of the race. Notable highlights include his impressive paces of 8:21 and 8:28 during miles 9 and 8, respectively, showing a good mid-race effort and finishing out these phases with determination. As the race progressed, Manuel experienced a slowdown, most prominently during the last three miles where his pace increased to 12:42 in the final mile. Finishing 66th in his division, he still demonstrated strong early strategy and competitive spirit. Future efforts could focus on sustaining the early pace through the latter parts of the race, potentially targeting more even splits and maintaining energy levels throughout the distance. Competing with AZ Run Club, there is a strong foundation for building on this performance.
