Consistent Pace Leads to Division Success Desirae McConnell showcased a remarkable performance at the 2025 Phoenix Marathon, particularly standing out in her division. Over a 10K distance, she maintained a consistent pace with an impressive final elapsed pace of 7:34 min/mile. Her sixth mile was the fastest split time at 7:00, demonstrating endurance and strategic pacing. The first four splits showed tight pacing, all under or near 7:30 min/mile, illustrating an excellent start. In her age group F35-39, Desirae clinched the top position, with her remarkable improvement at mile 4 being particularly notable where she moved into the lead. Her performance placed her 19th among females and helped her finish 71st overall out of 1840 participants. As a member of the AMP RUN TEAM, Desirae might consider maintaining the same pacing strategy, targeting consistent speeds throughout for future races. Nonetheless, great job on securing the first place in the division!
