Strong Start with a Stellar Finish Emma Schmidt displayed a tactical approach to her race at the 2025 Phoenix Marathon 10K. Starting well, she finished the first mile at a swift 9:06 min/mile pace, ranking 14th in her division. Notably, she maintained a fairly consistent pace for the first four miles, with minimal fluctuation, hovering around the 9-minute mark. An excellent start seemed to be her strength, with her initial three miles keeping her placements within reach of top division spots, reaching as high as 14th early on. Though her pace dipped after the fourth mile, with the fifth mile being 10:30, Emma's overall performance was defined by an impressive final mile. She surged to finish strong, clocking an elapsed time of 57:58 for the 10K, resulting in a rise to 4th overall in her division.
