Consistent Start, Challenging Finish for Korina Korina Guerrero maintained a consistent pace in the first half of the race, starting with a solid 13:07 min/mile pace at mile one and maintaining similar splits through to mile four, where she improved her standing in the F40-44 division. By mile five, there was a slight dip in pace to 13:40 min/mile, though she improved her division place to 132nd. An impressive performance at mile six saw a significant leap in her overall position, showcasing her endurance. The latter half of the race saw increasing challenges, with a gradual pace slowdown starting from mile seven at 16:21 min/mile and peaking at mile ten with a 19:39 min/mile split. Despite the deceleration, Korina finished strong at mile thirteen, improving her division placement. Overall, her persistence allowed her to complete the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half in 3:21:28. For future events, maintaining mid-race consistency could improve overall performance.
