Pacing Consistency with a Strong Finish Weston DeBry showcased steady pacing in the 2025 Phoenix Marathon's Half Marathon. Notably, his initial five miles maintained a strong average ranging from 8:42 to 9:16 min/mile. Impressively, between miles 6 and 10, DeBry maintained a consistent pace just under 9:04 min/mile, demonstrating his endurance and control over the middle segment of the race. Although there was a sharp increase in split time at mile 11, which extended to 10:15 min/mile, DeBry managed an impressive recovery. He concluded with a swift final split of 18:11 min/mile for the last mile, securely placing 16th in his division by split time and 51st overall in the M40-44 division. Crossing the finish line with a total time of 1:59:11, his average pace of 9:05 min/mile was consistent with his race plan. Encouragingly, focusing on maintaining the mid-race pacing and building a stronger second half could further enhance performance.
