Consistent Effort with Late Gains Santos Estrada demonstrated a steady performance throughout the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half Marathon. Starting with a first split of 11:43 minutes per mile, he maintained a consistent pace, completing the half marathon in 2:40:13, with an overall pace of 12:13 minutes per mile. Notably, he achieved his fastest split at mile 4 with a pace of 11:02 minutes per mile, showing strong capabilities in mid-race acceleration. Despite a slower penultimate mile split of 15:23, Estrada managed to pick up the pace in the final split to finish his race strong with an 11:15 split. His placement within his division (M40-44) was 102nd out of a competitive field of 2723 participants. To improve performance, focusing on maintaining speed during the latter half of the race could be beneficial, particularly aiming to mitigate the pace changes observed in mile 11. Keep pushing forward with the positive time reductions seen in the last split!
