Isaac's Consistent Middle Splits Drive Performance Isaac Pena completed the 2025 Phoenix Marathon Half Marathon in a time of 1:45:12, maintaining a strong average pace of 8:01 min/mile over the 13.1-mile distance. His overall placement improved significantly throughout the race, finishing 274th out of 2,723 participants. Particularly noteworthy is his performance in the M25-29 division, where he placed 38th. Notably, his best split occurred between miles 8 and 9, with a swift pace of 7:16 min/mile, which was instrumental in maintaining his position. Isaac's race strategy showed impressive consistency. After a few beginning laps where his fastest time was 8:13 min/mile, his splits improved with a significant burst towards the latter stages. Interestingly, between mile 10 and 11, there was a temporary drop in pace to 8:49 min/mile. Focusing on maintaining a constant pace throughout the race will further enhance results. Overall, Isaac displayed a solid performance, with his affiliation with Animo Running possibly contributing to such capabilities.
