Consistent Start with a Challenging Finish Geoffrey initiated the half marathon with a steady start, hitting consistent sub-10-minute mile paces through the first half. His fastest split was recorded between mile 3 and 4 at a 9:03 min/mile pace. Progress was notable as he advanced from the 1030th to the 913th overall position through mile six. Importantly, he remained in a competitive standing within his division, maintaining his rank closely between 111th and 130th midway through the race. However, from mile 7 onward, he experienced a slowing trend, peaking with a 15:53 min/mile pace at mile 12. This shift in pace affected his overall placement, ultimately leading to a 1519th overall finish out of 2723 participants. Despite this, Geoffrey's determination as part of the Phoenix Catholic Run Club remained commendable. For future races, maintaining consistent pacing throughout the final miles could enhance overall performance and position.
