Consistent Start, Steady Finish Alex Bustamante maintained a strong and steady pace throughout the 2025 Phoenix Marathon. Beginning with a solid 7:13 min/mile pace in the first mile, he stayed consistent with slight variations ranging from 7:08 to 7:51 min/mile across the course. Noteworthy moments include the impressive leap in placement during mile 8, moving from 200th to 141st overall. Alex's performance in the early segments showed control, where each of the first ten miles held a pace around the 7:10 mark. In the latter half of the marathon, Alex experienced a gentle tapering off in speed; however, his determination was evident as he maintained a commendable overall pace of 7:53 min/mile. Despite a challenging final few miles, where the pace extended into the 9:00 min/mile range, Alex finished strong with an official time of 3:26:55. Notably, he improved his division position impressively in mile 19, landing in 26th place. Training on final segments could enhance endurance for an even stronger finish next time.
