Sustained Pacing and Strong Finish Brenda demonstrated commendable consistency in her pacing throughout the 2025 Phoenix Marathon. She began with an even pace of 10:00 min/mile for the first two miles. Notably, her pace improved by the third mile, averaging a faster pace of 9:53 min/mile. From there, Brenda managed to maintain a steady pace, often dipping below the 10:00 min/mile mark for most miles. Her swiftest mile was the final one at 9:21, finishing strong with an overall elapsed time of 2:08:20 and an average pace of 9:47 min/mile. Brenda's performance in the F60-64 age division was consistent throughout, placing 11th. Her most notable improvement occurred from miles 5 to 6, where she surged substantially ahead in the overall race, moving up to 487th from 1102nd place. This shows a strategic and well-executed plan to conserve energy for the latter stages. Focusing on maintaining this strong closing pace across more sections could further enhance her results.
