Consistent Start with Endurance Challenges Angelo Gonzales began his race with impressive pacing, maintaining a steady rhythm across the first four miles. Notably, splits were consistent around the 8:10 min/mile pace early on, showcasing controlled efforts with minor shifts seen by the 8:04 min/mile at mile 3. Notably, despite a competitive field, Angelo held his place tightly around 300 overall and 200 within his gender for the first half of the course. As the race progressed, a slight decline in pace appeared, noticeable particularly between miles 10 and 11, where his time slowed to a 10:34 min/mile. Nonetheless, Angelo's ability to sustain close to a mid-8 pace across 13 miles is commendable. For future races, focusing on tempo runs and pacing beyond the 10-mile mark may help maintain initial momentum.
