Consistent Early Pace with a Strong Division Finish Brian Kerr maintained a consistent pace through the initial stages of the race at the 2025 Phoenix Marathon. Notably, he executed the first half with steady splits, moving from an 8:15 min/mile pace at the start and demonstrating small variations, such as an 8:10 min/mile pace at mile 5. His performance saw him rank third in his M60-64 age division through the fifth mile, showcasing strong competitiveness amongst his peers. Although there was a deceleration starting from mile 6, with an 8:22 min/mile pace, Kerr managed to secure consistent placement within his division. He encountered challenges in the latter miles, with mile 11 recording the slowest split at a 10:29 min/mile pace. This resulted in him closing the race with an overall pace of 8:40 min/mile, ranking sixth in his division. Working on consistent pacing in the latter stages may bolster future performances, particularly in long-distance events.
