Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Mallory maintained a consistent pace throughout the race, starting with a 12:22 min/mile for the first mile. Notably, her pace increased in the subsequent miles, reaching an impressive 11:47 min/mile by the third mile. Mallory experienced a slowdown during the fourth and fifth miles, with splints of 13:28 and 17:54 min/mile respectively. This brief slowdown impacted her position slightly, but she made a remarkable recovery by closing the sixth mile with a split of 13:40 min/mile, moving up to 127th place overall for that split. Mallory finalized her race with an overall time of 1:21:44 for the 10K, with an average pace of 13:10 min/mile. Ending at 563rd out of the female participants and 117th in her F25-29 age division, Mallory showed impressive stamina and perseverance. Focused pacing and strategic mid-race adjustments may help in future races to maintain momentum into the later stages. Great effort as part of the AZ Run Club!
